Job and Volunteering Vacancies

Volunteers required

Share Bristol: Library of Things in Kingswood (BS15 4AA) are on the lookout for more volunteers to expand their opening hours.

The main roles are librarians, to help check the borrowed "Things" in and out of the library and "Thing Technicians" to check each "Thing" is working after being returned and fix if needed (if skilled in that area), e.g. drills, sewing machines, garden tools.

Both roles are ideal for friendly people who love to chat to members of the public, have a few hours spare each week/fortnight and have some computer skills. All training is provided.

The Library of Things is a Community Interest Company and members can borrow all sorts of items for free to save money, save space and save the environment. Membership is just £20/year for concessions and £50 for everyone else.

There is further information and an application here www.sharebristol.org.uk/get-involved/volunteering or email  kay@sharebristol.org.uk or drop into the Library of Things (1-5 High St, BS15 4AA) on a Saturday between 10 am and 2 pm to find out more.

COULD YOU SPARE THE TIME TO JOIN THE DIGITAL CHAMPIONS?

Digital Champions are now back! Working in libraries at various locations across South Gloucestershire these volunteers are providing help and support to those less digitally able within our communities. Whether it's teaching someone how to turn a computer on for the first time or showing them how to manage emails and connect with friends and family, our Digital Champions help individuals to grow and develop their digital capabilities. Offering free one to one sessions and sharing their skills and knowledge our champions not only assist learning but also inspire confidence, enthusiasm, and motivation.

To access the support of a Digital Champion book a session by phone 01454 865022 (lines open Monday to Friday 10 am to 4 pm and Saturday 9.30am to 12pm) or visit a staffed library during opening hours.
